In the last years Politkenika Ikastegia Txorierri has bet for the internationalization, for being attentive to what happens in other European countries and for taking part in initiatives and projects of international character. Working on this direction, we take part in the following international programs:

School Exchange programme of the Basque Government Cultural Exchanges addressed to pupils of Baccalaureate of a week of duration.

During this period the students coexist with the families, take part in the classes working on different projects, they visit companies and take part in cultural activities that enrich and complement their training.

Mobility programme Leonardo da Vinci for teachers and pupils of middle degree.

This programme allows the pupils of middle degree to do the compulsory internship module FCT, totally subsidized, in companies of several European countries.

It also allows the teachers and  members of the management team to take part in exchanges with professionals of other European Vocational Training schools in order to exchange experiences and to introduce modern formulae of management and pedagogic innovative methodologies.

Mobility programme ERASMUS for high degree students.

This programme allows the high degree students to do the compulsory internship module, FCT, in companies of several European countries. Every school year, more than 15 % of the pupils, do their professional training in Europe, developing additional capacities that allow them to improve their professional profile and the opportunities of getting a job in the future.

Carta Universitaria Erasmus

A Politeknika Ikastegia Txorierri le ha sido concedida la Carta Universitaria Erasmus (Erasmus University Charter -EUC). Esta Carta consiste en un certificado que establece los principios fundamentales de toda actividad Erasmus que deben respetar los centros de Enseñanza Superior. La Carta establece los principios básicos y los requisitos mínimos que debe cumplir un centro de Enseñanza Superior para realizar actividades dentro del programa Erasmus para el período 2007-2013.

Cultural Integration.

From 2006-2008 Politeknika Ikastegia Txorierri took part along with Centres from Finland, The Czech Republic, Germany and Ireland, in the CATIT Pilot Course. CATIT was a training course for Technical trainers who work with students from different cultures.  Following on from CATIT, Politeknika Ikastegia Txorierri is now (2009-2011) coordinating the CATEL Project to transfer the CATIT course material to an online e learning format alongside partners from Germany, Estonia, Belgium and Turkey.  The main objective of the CATEL Project is to improve the integration of immigrant students into the education system and the workplace.  Politeknika Ikastegia Txorierri has designed and developed an internet platform which will be used to motivate and prepare teachers and trainers who work with immigrants and whose role is to help students integrate and successfully complete their studies.

Promoting International Movement.

In keeping with our internationalisation strategy, we are participating as partners in two projects which aim to promote the internationalisation of FE Institutes.

1. The IOA2 Project:  (International Operational Agent) 2009-2011 IOA2 is developing a training course for teachers who wish to move in the international arena. Visit: www.ioagent.net
2. IntheMC: (Internationalisation and Mobility in the student curricula)   2010 -2012 IntheMC aims to increase the number of students who successfully take part in international study programmes by training teachers and advising the VE management (www.inthemc-project.org ).

Entrepreneurship

Politeknika Ikastegia Txorierri promotes entrepreneurial activities in several ways.  Participating in the following projects is one such way.

1. IESTEK: (International Educational System for Transferring Entrepreneurial Knowledge) 2010-2012 IESTEK is developing a training course for teachers to reinforce their entrepreneurial skills, which they can use in their teaching to support the needs of industry (www.iestek.net ).
2. ENTRE-COACH: (Coaching Skills for Teachers to Foster Entrepreneurship) 2010-2012) Entre-Coach aims to promote entrepreneurship by training teachers in coaching, innovation and business skills (www.entre-coach.eu ).

Cooperation  programmes with LKS to South America.

These programmes allow Politeknika Ikastegia Txorierri to provide technical service and training to vocational training schools in South America.  An example is the project Fe y Alegría that took place in Colombia.
